Biography
I’m a graduate student with a focus in biocultural anthropology. For my bachelor’s degree I double majored in anthropology and psychology at the SUNY Oswego. Throughout my time at UNLV, I’ve been most interested in understanding reproduction within a cultural context. When I first started the program, my primary interests were in evolutionary reproduction, mate selection, and sex ratios. My MA research investigated how women attending university in Jamaica chose their partners -- given the 3/1 sex ratio in Jamaican higher education. For my doctoral research, I plan to focus on the use of assisted reproductive technologies and modern fertility procedures from a critical theoretical perspective.
