Biography

Dr. Alexa Bejinariu is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at the Ê×Ò³| Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­. She also serves as the Internship Coordinator for the department and Faculty Advisor for Alpha Phi Sigma (APS) – Theta Tau, the National Criminal Justice Honors Society. Bejinariu teaches introductory level criminal justice courses as well as upper division courses including research methods and quantitative applications in criminal justice. Her areas of interest include human trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, intimate partner violence, and immigration. Bejinariu’s research has been published in the American Journal of Criminal Justice, Journal of Crime and Justice, Critical Criminology, Race and Justice, and Journal of Family Violence. Authored chapters have also appeared in The Encyclopedia of Women and Crime and The Routledge International Handbook of Violence Studies.
