Volunteers are needed for March 8 and April 27 clean-ups of Wetlands Park.
UNLV's Environmental Studies Program, Clark County Parks and Recreation, and Friends of Wetlands Park are sponsoring clean-ups in the new Wetlands Park in the southeast portion of Las Vegas Valley.
For years the area has been used as an illegal dump site. Concerned Clark County citizens will be cleaning up the piles of debris in an effort to return the area to its pristine beauty. By supporting the new park, organizers hope that the residents of Southern Nevada will protect and appreciate the beautiful desert wetlands ecosystem.
The clean-ups are set for 9-11 a.m. on Saturdays, March 8 and April 27. For more information about Wetlands Park and the clean-up effort, call (702) 739-6862.
