Veteran diplomat Dennis Ross will examine the role of negotiation and mediation in efforts to achieve stability and peace among nations during a lecture sponsored by The Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution at UNLV's Boyd School of Law. Ross served on President Ronald Reagan's National Security Council staff and as Middle East envoy and chief peace negotiator in the presidential administrations of George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton. He is currently a counselor and distinguished fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. He is also the author of two highly acclaimed books, "The Missing Peace: The Inside Story of the Fight for Middle East Peace" and more recently, "Statecraft: And How to Restore America's Standing in the World."
