Two distinguished Italian scholars will speak as part of "Galileo and the Churches: Yesterday and Today," a symposium presented by UNLV's department of philosophy.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Dungan Humanities Building, Room 109.
Michael Segre of the Harvard Center for Renaissance Studies will speak on the topic, "Galileo, John Paul II and Etiquette." Giancarlo Nonnoi of the University of Cagliari will discuss "Anglican Bishop Wilkins and Galileo."
The symposium is co-sponsored by the Greenspun School of Communication.
