"The Art of Outdoor Photography" is the topic of an April 24 University Forum Lecture at UNLV.
In this slide-illustrated lecture, Frank Serafini, assistant professor of education at UNLV, will take the audience on a visual tour of various locations, from Stonehenge to New Zealand. Using examples of landscape images, he will demonstrate photographic techniques, including composition, color, balance, texture, and perspective.
On April 29, UNLV Preservation and Conservation Librarian Toby Murray will present "The Care and Feeding of Family Photographs."
During her lecture, Murray will discuss the storage, handling, and exhibiting of photographs. She will also examine the reasons for deterioration and fading of photographs and discuss the perils of scrapbooking. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own photographs to the lecture.
Both lectures will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History. All University Forum lectures are free and open to the public.
The University Forum lecture series is sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts and is underwritten by The Jerry Kalafatis Lodge Charitable Foundation and the UNLV Foundation.
