The UNLV School of Music presents the American Prize award-winning UNLV Wind Orchestra in “Spellbound" at 7:30 p.m. May 1 in Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall. The concert features award-winning soloist, Laura Taylor; award-winning pianist, professor Dave Loeb; awarding-winning composer, Jorge Machain, and saxophone soloist, Max Marquis. Highlights include Laura Taylor’s Spellbound, arranged by Douglass; Goin' Home featuring Laura Taylor, and a medley of John Williams' greatest movie scores including The Cowboys, The Flight to Neverland, Lincoln, and Catch Me If You Can.
The evening's performance is conducted by professor Thomas G. Leslie; Zane S. Douglass, associate conductor; David Coyner, assistant director of bands; Ocean Akaka, Master's conducting assistant; Charles Greggerson, Doctoral conducting assistant; and Kauri Koizumi, Master's conducting assistant.
