The UNLV Wind Orchestra will host its "March Madness" concert at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 27, in Artemus Ham Concert Hall.
The performance of classic marches in the military band style will feature three special guest conductors, including Colonel John Bourgeois, former conductor and music director of 'The President's Own' U.S. Marine Band and the editor of many of the concert's works; Professor Jerry Junkin, director of bands at the University of Texas at Austin, artistic director and conductor of the Dallas Wind Symphony, and principal guest conductor of the Hong Kong Wind Philharmonic; and W. J. Julian, director emeritus, University of Tennessee Bands.
"We are honored to host and work with such distinguished guests," said Thomas Leslie, director of bands at UNLV. "This will be an exciting show and we look forward to hearing the response from our local community."
Tickets are $8 general admission, $5 for students, military and seniors, and free for UNLV faculty, staff and students. Tickets are on sale at the Performing Arts Center box office, which may be reached by calling 895-ARTS (2787).
