Genie Dove, a senior majoring in environmental studies at UNLV, has been chosen to receive a $1,000 Marlin Perkins Scholarship through Mutual of Omaha's Wildlife Heritage Center.
UNLV is one of 30 schools across the nation to participate in the scholarship program, which is named after the pioneer conservationist who for many years was the host of "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom."
One student is chosen annually from each school based on the student's academic excellence and demonstrated interest in wildlife preservation, natural resources conservation, or environmental studies.
