UNLV public administration professor Bill Thompson will appear on the Las Vegas segment of the PBS series "Going Places" on Feb. 10.
Thompson, who long has studied gaming issues, was interviewed at three local hotel/casinos, the Santa Fe, the Horseshoe, and the MGM. The Santa Fe was used as an example of a casino frequented by locals. The Horseshoe is shown as a place for serious gamblers, while the MGM is portrayed as a destination for the resort-oriented gambler.
"Going Places" is an eight-part series. The hour-long Las Vegas segment featuring Thompson will be broadcast on channel 10 at 8 p.m. on Feb. 10 and again at 10 p.m. on Feb. 14.
