The UNLV Performing Arts debuts the 2015-16 Charles Vanda Master Series with the singing string quartet, Well-Strung, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. The quartet, which will be fresh off the release of its new album, POPssical, and return appearance on the TODAY Show, derives its unique blend of vocals and strings by fusing classical music with the pop music of today.
The group, called “talented” by the New York Times, consists of members Edmund Bagnell, 1st violin; Chris Marchant, 2nd violin; Daniel Shevlin, cello; and Trevor Wadleigh, viola.
Tickets to Well-Strung are $20-$70 and can be purchased at the Performing Arts Center box office at 702-895-ARTS (2787) or by visiting pac.unlv.edu. Student rush tickets are $15 each (not inclusive of the facilities fee), and available one hour prior to each event, based on availability and with valid student I.D. UNLV faculty and staff discounts also are available. A $1.50 facilities fee, in addition to the ticket price, is charged on all Performing Arts Center tickets. The box office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Founded in 1976, the Performing Arts Center at UNLV is Southern Nevada’s original performing arts venue, celebrating 40 years of arts in Las Vegas. Located on the north end of the UNLV campus, the PAC hosts a variety of performances and is home to the Charles Vanda Master Series.
