The UNLV Performing Arts Center is proud to present Bebe Neuwirth in "Bebe Neuwirth Sings Weill and Kander & Ebb" at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 as part of the New York Stage & Beyond Series. Star of stage and screen Neuwirth, Tony Award-winner for Chicago and Emmy Award-winner for Lilith on Cheers, debuts in Las Vegas with a unique program of songs by Kurt Weill (composer of The Threepenny Opera) and Kander and Ebb (composer and lyricist of Cabaret, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and Chicago.)
Neuwirth's other Broadway credits include Fosse, Damn Yankees, Dancin', Little Me, and A Chorus Line. In addition, she has performed leading roles in numerous regional theater productions including West Side Story for the Cleveland Opera, the title role in Kiss of the Spider Woman on London's West End, and Katherine in The Taming of the Shrew at Williamstown Theater Festival. In the summer of 2004, she completed a successful run of Here Lies Jenny at the Zipper Theater in New York.
Her work in film includes Liberty Heights, Summer of Sam, Celebrity, Jumanji, Green Card, The Paint Job, Bugsy, and Tadpole, among others.
Tickets to "Bebe Neuwirth Sings Weill and Kander & Ebb" are $45, $60, and $90 and can be purchased at the Performing Arts Center Box Office at 895-ARTS (2787) or by visiting pac.unlv.edu. Student rush tickets are $12.50 each and available one hour prior to each event, based on availability and with valid student I.D. UNLV faculty and staff discounts also are available. A $.50 facilities fee, in addition to the ticket price, is charged on all Performing Arts Center tickets. The box office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Founded in 1976, the Performing Arts Center at UNLV continues to be Southern Nevada's premier performing arts venue.
