The UNLV Performing Arts Center is proud to present Ballet Flamenco Jose Porcel at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28 as part of the New York Stage & Beyond series. Trained in the style of the flamenco masters, Porcel will lead his 12-member company of the best flamenco dancers Spain has to offer through the irresistibly exotic world that is flamenco.
With rhythm, colors, and emotion that contain all the vitality of the Spanish people, the folklorish celebration of flamenco has an irrepressible energy. Porcel, a master of the art of flamenco, began dancing at the age of 13 throughout Spain. In 2000 he danced as soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl and also performed on tour around the world for more than 20 sold-out performances.
