The UNLV International Gaming Institute, a part of the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration, announces that it is partnering with WageWatch, Inc. to develop Internet-based compensation surveys for the gaming industry.
"We are excited to have WageWatch as our technology partner," said Mary Ann McDaniel, director of surveys for the UNLV International Gaming Institute. "This combined effort revolutionizes the way we conduct compensation surveys. The partnership will enable the casino industry to transition quickly and easily to an online and always up-to-date survey system."
The UNLV International Gaming Institute has conducted wage surveys for the gaming industry for seven years. The surveys cover major gaming jurisdictions in the United States, including Las Vegas, Reno, Tunica, Miss., and Biloxi, Miss., as well as gaming on Indian reservations and riverboats.
WageWatch offers a unique Web-based compensation and benefits survey tool designed specifically for human resource professionals. Under the new agreement, WageWatch will customize and administer the online surveys, which will be accessible through a gaming industry home page on the WageWatch Web site. UNLV and WageWatch will also collaborate to conduct gaming industry and compensation research reports and articles.
"In addition to offering the gaming industry vital information, this alliance will offer faculty in UNLV's Hotel College access to WageWatch's extensive data for research purposes," McDaniel said. "Not only will faculty have access to the gaming-related information, but also to hospitality industry wage data from more than 50 other cities in which WageWatch conducts surveys."
All survey subscribers enter their company's compensation and benefit data into the online system to generate reports. The customized reports reflect comparison data of at least five or more competitors in a specified market or region. This system allows subscribers to cross-reference their facility's benefits and compensation data to that of their competitive set on any date, at any time, and within minutes.
"This partnership with UNLV will help gaming subscribers have online real-time data at their fingertips," said Randy Pullen, chairman and CEO of WageWatch. "Gaming industry HR professionals can now run customized reports comparing their establishment to their direct competitors."
