UNLV's new nutrition sciences program will offer several courses this summer, including new courses in alternative medical nutrition therapy and food and cultures.
The alternative medical nutrition therapy course will be offered during the first summer session, which begins May 15. It will take place from 9 a.m. until 11:50 a.m. Monday through Friday on the Henderson campus of the Community College of Southern Nevada through June 2.
Principles of nutrition and nutrition for sports and fitness will be offered during the second session, which runs June 5 through July 7. Nutrition for sports and fitness will be taught from 1 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Principles of nutrition is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Monday through Wednesday. Both these courses will be taught on the UNLV campus.
The new food and cultures course will be taught during the third session, which begins July 10. It is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday on the UNLV campus through August 11.
All the courses are three-credit classes. Some prerequisites are listed for registration; however, consent of the instructor is also an option for enrollment.
