The conference is the oldest and largest in gaming and will address online gaming, the future of Las Vegas and casinos in the U.S., and new gaming industry technologies.

More than 400 attendees from six continents are expected to attend the conference, which is held every three years. Researchers will present their latest findings on gambling and global gaming, including gambling and the brain and China and the gaming industry. The event is open to the public. - Keynotes and special sessions topics include: the release of the first NCAA study on college gambling, the reunion of the MIT blackjack team, the release of a major national study of Australian online and offline gambling, and the unveiling of the brand new diagnostic criteria for pathological gambling.
- The conference brings together industry experts, economists, psychologists, gaming regulators, neurobiologists, mathematicians, anthropologists, historians, sociologists and gambling enthusiasts.
The conference will honor the legacy of UNR professor Bill Eadington, who died in February. Eadington was a world-renowned authority on the gaming industry who pioneered the scientific study of gambling when he started this conference in 1974.
