UNLV's William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration is gearing up to host its annual Las Vegas International Hospitality and Convention Summit June 4-6 at the Stan Fulton Building on the UNLV Campus. The event is a capstone class for students studying tourism and convention at UNLV. It also serves as an affordable conference for industry professionals, and features presentations from top industry officials in the fields of hospitality, tourism, conventions, events, food & beverage, gaming, clubs, entertainment and leisure activities. Tours of local facilities are also scheduled.
"This summit gives students in the capstone class real-world experience in planning a meeting and convention," said Patti Shock, professor and chair of UNLV's Tourism and Convention Administration Department. "But it also brings top hospitality educators and industry leaders together to present their research."
The summit features a full roster of informative sessions for hospitality professionals and educators. A highlight of the week features the Crystal Ball Panel: Forecasting the Future for the Hospitality Industry moderated by Stuart Mann, dean of the Hotel College. Panelists include George Fenich of the University of New Orleans, Mark Haley from the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Chris Canning of Hospitality Inc. A variety of products and services including books and software will also be on display during the summit. Exhibit hours are from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 4 and from 8-10:30 a.m. Monday, June 5.
