WHAT: Local and regional researchers and environmental managers will convene at UNLV for the inaugural Lake Mead Science Symposium to share information, exchange ideas, and coordinate efforts to protect the ecological health of lakes Mead and Mohave. Participants will also initiate the development of a comprehensive ecological monitoring strategy for the lakes.

Participating agencies include the National Park Service, Bureau of Reclamation, Clean Water Coalition, Nevada Department of Wildlife, Southern Nevada Water Authority, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey, and the Ê×Ò³| Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³». Planning for the Lake Mead Science Symposium is funded by the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act as a component of a larger initiative led by the National Park Service, which is, in part, administered by the UNLV Public Lands Institute and the UNLV School of Community Health Sciences on behalf of the National Park Service.
