UNLV will host an informational forum regarding proposed revisions to admission standards for Nevada's two universities on Monday, Nov. 28 at 6:30 p.m. The session will be held at UNLV's Shadow Lane Campus, 1001 Shadow Lane ( Shadow Lane and Charleston), in the building "A" auditorium.
At the Dec. 1 Board of Regents meeting, Nevada System of Higher Education Chancellor James Rogers, UNLV President Carol Harter and UNR President John Lilley will propose instituting already-approved 2010 standards for admission in 2007. Under this plan, at the two universities, entering freshmen in 2007 would be required to have either a 3.0 or higher weighted high school GPA in the required 13 core courses, or a score of 1040 on the SAT or 22 on the ACT. Undergraduate transfers would need to earn a transfer GPA of 2.5 or higher.
At the Nov. 28 session, which is open to the public, university officials will discuss the proposal and answer any questions.
