WHAT: The UNLV Institute for Security Studies (ISS) will present the first in a series of free public forums to understand and potentially mitigate security concerns facing Southern Nevada in the 21st century
WHEN: Friday, April 27, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
WHERE: Richard Tam Alumni Center at UNLV
DETAILS: The forum panel of federal, state, local and UNLV community experts will attempt to improve attendees' understanding of how to respond to and mitigate security risks in Southern Nevada. The panel includes experts from UNLV, the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, the Nevada Homeland Security Commission and the Nevada Alliance for Defense, Energy and Business.
The forum will be moderated by Dr. Ron Smith, UNLV vice president for research, with an introduction by UNLV President David B. Ashley. The event is free and open to the public.
The ISS is dedicated to bringing UNLV and other expertise to bear in addressing contemporary security concerns.
