The UNLV department of film is thrilled to announce that senior student Melissa Del Rosario produced the feature film Take Out Girl, which recently was acquired by 1091 Pictures. Selling a feature film is a first for a UNLV film student and a tremendous achievement for anyone working in the film industry.
Take Out Girl is directed by Hisonni Mustafa. Director of photography is Alberto Triana. The film stars Hedy Wong and is based on Wong’s true story, and includes a scene shot on the UNLV campus. Presales begin soon on Itunes, Vudu, Fandango, and Amazon Prime.
"Melissa served as lead producer on Take Out Girl, an independent feature film shot in Riverside, California, that takes the audience through the heart-wrenching decisions that immigrants in America may face as they try to survive and thrive in an environment that can be harsh and unforgiving," said chair of film Heather Addison. "Melissa navigated complex logistical gymnastics to helm Take Out Girl while still completing her undergraduate degree in film at UNLV. She is graduating this spring, and we are so very proud. Melissa's determination and vision are truly inspirational; she will be a leader in the industry, and we can't wait to see what she does next!"
