Colleen Peterson, director of UNLV's Center for Individual, Couple, and Family Counseling, recently has been appointed by Gov. Kenny Guinn to serve on the Nevada Board of Examiners for Marriage and Family Therapists.
The board reviews licensure of the state's marriage and family therapists, hears complaints, and reviews and implements statutes related to the practice of licensed marriage and family therapy in Nevada.
Peterson, who is a clinical member and an approved supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, also is a clinical assistant professor in the department of counseling at UNLV's Greenspun College of Urban Affairs. She holds a doctorate in human ecology with a specialization in marriage and family therapy from Kansas State University.
