The UNLV Department of Dance is pleased to announce its 2023-24 dance concert season, A Season of Light.
The concert season opens with First Light, October 20-21 in the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall. This concert will feature works by faculty and artists in residence. A highlight of the concert is choreography by the newest UNLV Dance faculty member Hayley Meier.
Golden Hour, November 9-11 in Dance Studio HFA 111, features exciting choreography and lighting design by talented Bachelor of Fine Arts majors in Performance and Choreography and Dance Production and Management.
We are excited that all of our concerts will now return to live performance. Fall ends with Rhapsody in Blue, December 8-9, a mix of work by students and faculty.
Spring concerts begin with Full Spectrum, February 23-24, 2024 in the Judy Bayley Theatre, which will feature works by faculty and guest artists including a classic work by Erick Hawkins, a significant choreographer of the 20th century.
Light and Shadow on April 11-13, 2024, is the concert of milestone and capstone choreographed works and lighting by Bachelor of Fine Arts majors.
The season ends with Twilight's Glow on Friday, May 4-5, 2024, a final concert of works to wrap up the glowing year of dance.
The dance season will contain choreography by full time dance faculty Cathy Allen, Victoria Dale, Jason Hortin, Louis Kavouras, Dolly Kelepecz-Momot, and new faculty member Hayley Meier, with lighting design by faculty design specialist Michael Jarett.
Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the UNLV Performing Arts Center Box Office, located on the northeast end of campus and attached to the south face of the parking garage. Maps and directions are available online. Individual show tickets may be purchased for $20 over the phone by calling 702-895-ARTS (2787) or online from the Performing Arts Center box office.
Discount tickets are available to seniors, military members, all students, UNLV faculty and staff, and UNLV alumni for $12. Streaming access for each concert will also be $12 per household. Additional fees may apply.
