Continuing Education at UNLV is offering a program for persons with math or science baccalaureate degrees who were displaced from the Nevada Test Site or Yucca Mountain Project.
For persons who would like to teach in grades 7-12, the special one-year "Graduate Licensure Program" would begin early this spring. Course work will be offered during evening or weekend meetings. Also, one semester is required in public school practice teaching. (A 3.0 grade point average in required in the undergraduate degree.)
An informational meeting is scheduled on the UNLV campus at 11 a.m. Jan. 20 in Frank and Estella Beam Hall, Room 241. Representatives from Continuing Education and the Department of Instructional and Curricular Studies, which are co-sponsoring the program, will discuss applications, schedules, and requirements.
