LOCATION: UNLV Rebel Recycling Center (Southeast corner of Flamingo Road and Swenson Street behind the UNLV Solar Site)
UNLV Rebel Recycling, the Blind Center of Nevada and the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection are hosting an electronics recycling fair on campus Nov. 15 to mark America Recycles Day.
Among the items accepted at the event:
o Computers
o Monitors
o Computer equipment (mice, keyboards, speakers)
o Printers and fax machines
o Cell phones
Working and non-working equipment will be accepted. Television sets will not be accepted.
America Recycles Day began in 1997 as a grassroots effort to encourage recycling in communities nationwide. Also started in 1997, the UNLV Rebel Recycling Program provides campus with comprehensive waste reduction, recycling, resource management and opportunities for student involvement. Between 2003 and 2007, the Rebel Recycling Program recycled more than 2,100 tons of materials, saving an estimated 8.8 million kilowatt hours of energy and 15 million gallons of water.
