UNLV alumni have good fore-sight when it comes to helping out their alma mater. On Oct. 29, golfers and friends of the university will participate in the second annual Birdies, Bogeys, and Beer Golf Tournament. The event, which will take place at the Painted Desert Golf Club in Las Vegas, gets underway at noon. The public is invited to participate.
All proceeds benefit UNLV's Food and Beverage Department's pilot brewing program called "BRUNLV" (Brew-NLV), and the UNLV Harrah Hotel College Alumni Relations Program. "BRUNLV has raised in excess of seven thousand dollars toward brewing education in Southern Nevada in its first three years," said Andrew Feinstein, chairman of the Department of Food and Beverage at UNLV. "We're on track this year to have our largest event to date, with contributions from major local breweries and some other added surprises."
Registration for the tournament is $125 for individuals or $450 per foursome. The cost of registration includes a barbeque dinner, local microbrew tasting, and prizes. Teams are invited to show off their talent on the green, while helping to raise funds to support student programs at UNLV.
