The UNLV Performing Arts Center welcomes multiple Tony Award-winner Christine Ebersole at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 26 as part of the New York Stage & Beyond Series.
Ebersole's noted Broadway credits include an appearance in Gore Vidal's The Best Man (2000), Millicent Jordan in Dinner at Eight (2002) (for which she was nominated for a Tony Award), M'Lynn in Steel Magnolias (2005), and the role for which she won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical - Dorothy Brock in the 2001 revival of 42nd Street.
In 2006, Ebersole took the dual role of Edith Ewing Bouvier Beale ("Big Edie") and Edith Bouvier Beale ("Little Edie") in Grey Gardens, a new musical based upon the movie of the same name. After a sold-out off-Broadway run, Ebersole remained with the roles when the play moved to Broadway in fall 2006. She earned her second Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for this role.
Tickets to Christine Ebersole are $40, $55, and $85 and can be purchased at the Performing Arts Center Box Office at 895-ARTS (2787) or by visiting pac.unlv.edu. Founded in 1976, the Performing Arts Center at UNLV continues to be Southern Nevada's premier performing arts venue. Located on the north end of the UNLV campus, the PAC hosts a variety of performances each year in three distinct series - the Charles Vanda Master Series, the New York Stage & Beyond Series, and the UNLV Classical guitar Series. UNLV and KLVX Channel 10 are graciously sponsoring the season.
