Vincent H. Eade, director of the UNLV International Gaming Institute, has accepted the position of assistant dean for finance and administration in the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration, according to David Christianson, dean of the college.
Dr. Shannon L. Bybee will be replacing Eade as director of the UNLV International Gaming Institute.
In his new capacity, Eade will be responsible for managing all business operations and opportunities for the Hotel College, including strategic planning for the UNLV International Gaming Institute, the Hospitality Research and Development Center, and special and distance educational programs.
Eade was the gaming institute's first director and has served in that capacity since 1993. He has been a member of the Hotel College faculty since 1986 and spent approximately 10 years in the hotel/casino industry prior to joining UNLV. Eade received his bachelor's and master's degrees from St. Bonaventure University.
Professor Bybee joined the Hotel College faculty in 1995 after serving as chief executive officer and president of a number of gaming operations including Alliance Gaming, the Claridge Hotel/Casino, and the Golden Nugget Corp.
Bybee also served as a member of Nevada's Chapter of the National Council on Problem Gambling. He is a graduate of the University of Utah's College of Law and teaches courses on gaming law and regulation at UNLV.
