The Cognition in Aging research group at UNLV is seeking local adults between the ages of 65 and 85 to participate in research studies.
The group conducts research in the areas of memory, decision-making in gambling, and basic cognitive aging processes. No medication or invasive procedures are involved in the research.
"This is not an assessment or therapy program, but participants in our research programs do enjoy learning more about memory and aging processes through our programs," said psychology professor Karen Kemtes, director of the program.
Research participants receive a modest stipend for their time and travel costs. Each research session lasts approximately two hours.
Research by the Cognition in Aging group complies with federal regulation and institutional guidelines on the protection of human participants in research.
