The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art and Aarrow Sign Spinners of Las Vegas invite you to the final performance of "Spin (After Sol LeWitt)," an exhibition of sculpture, video, photography, and performance by Colorado-based artist Yumi Janairo Roth. Collaborating with professional sign spinners, Roth creates insightful juxtapositions between the physical presence of street-corner advertising and the work of one of America’s founding conceptual artists, Sol LeWitt (1928-2007). The project has special resonance in Las Vegas, the longtime host of the annual World Sign Spinning Championship.
Saturday, June 26
11 a.m.: Meet the artist and the spinners at the museum. Rayen Jones, Evan James, LaDanyin Dayday Jordan, Laramie Rosenfeld, and Christopher Sicuso decide which signs they wish to spin for the day.
12 p.m.: Spinning at the intersection of E. Harmon Avenue and University Center Drive.
1:30 - 2 p.m.: Choreographed group routine on the UNLV campus, near the north entrance to the museum.
2 - 3 p.m.: Celebration with the artists and spinners.
