The Women's Research Institute of Nevada is now accepting applications for its summer 2004 NEW Leadership Nevada program, to be held June 14-19 at UNLV.
NEW Leadership Nevada is a statewide, nonpartisan program that works to empower college women to take on leadership roles in their communities. The six-day program is open to all undergraduate students who attend colleges and universities in Nevada , as well as Nevada residents attending colleges outside the state.
During the program, students will learn about leadership and civic engagement from prominent women in politics, policymaking, business, and the community, as well as from educators in a variety of fields. The keynote speaker for the program is Nevada Supreme Court Chief Justice Miriam Shearing. Women from various professions across the state will also participate as workshop leaders, panelists, and speakers.
The deadline for submitting applications is April 30. Individuals interested in applying can an application. Applicants from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply. NEW Leadership Nevada seeks to attract students who want to explore and develop their leadership skills.
