The Women's Research Institute of Nevada is accepting applications for its 3 rd Annual NEW Leadership Nevada program, to be held June 13-18 at UNLV.
NEW Leadership Nevada is a statewide, non-partisan program that aims to empower college women to take on leadership roles in their communities.
The six-day program is open to all undergraduate students who attend colleges and universities in Nevada, as well as Nevada residents attending colleges outside the state. The program is open to students of all academic disciplines, and covers a wide range of topics pertaining to women and leadership.
During the program, students will learn about leadership and civic engagement from prominent women in politics, policymaking, business, law, and community activism, as well as from educators in a variety of fields. Women from various professions across the state will also participate as workshop leaders, panelists, and speakers. Students will have an opportunity to network with speakers and fellow students and explore the possibility for internships and jobs. Students will also have the opportunity to take on a project in their community.
NEW Leadership Nevada seeks to attract students who want to explore and develop their leadership skills. Students pay no cost to attend this program. All costs are covered by the Women's Research Institute of Nevada and our community partners.
The deadline for submitting applications is March 18.
