WHAT: The UNLV Institute for Security Studies, in conjunction with the Nevada Commission on Homeland Security, will present recommendations for improving private sector emergency preparedness and host an open discussion on the formation of a private sector advisory council.

DETAILS: The forum will provide private industry leaders with information to help them protect their staff, business and investments during an emergency. Additionally, the group will discuss creating an advisory council to improve information sharing between private industry and law enforcement agencies, including the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Nevada Commission on Homeland Security.
The forum will be moderated by Dr. Dale Carrison, chair of the Nevada Commission on Homeland Security, with a welcome by UNLV President David B. Ashley and presentations by noted private sector security expert Dave Shepherd and Maureen Peckman, member of the Nevada Commission on Homeland Security.
The event is free and open to the public.
