The Institute of Museum and Library Services announced today that Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art is among 30 finalists for the 2022 National Medal for Museum and Library Service. Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art is the only institution in Nevada to be selected as a finalist for this award.
The National Medal is the nation’s highest honor given to museums and libraries that demonstrate significant impact in their communities. For more than 25 years, the award has honored institutions that demonstrate excellence in service to their communities.
“As the only art museum in Las Vegas, it is a special honor to receive this nomination and the recognition it brings to the arts in our city,” said Barrick’s Executive Director Alisha Kerlin. “We are committed to leveling barriers that limit access to the arts, especially for first-time visitors, and we aspire to create a nourishing environment for the multitude of diverse voices that make up our vibrant community. We’re grateful for the opportunity this nomination gives us to highlight the amazing things happening in Las Vegas.”
