Earvin "Magic" Johnson, who had been scheduled to speak at UNLV on Dec. 1, has canceled his appearance, citing scheduling conflicts, according to David Turner of UNLV's student government.
Johnson was to have been the featured speaker for UNLV's observance of World AIDS Day.
Johnson is the former Los Angeles Laker basketball star who retired in 1991 after disclosing that he had contracted HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.
