The Las Vegas law firm of Gordon & Silver, Ltd. recently pledged $25,000 per year to UNLV to establish a professorship of business law at the university's William S. Boyd School of Law.
Titled the "Gordon & Silver, Ltd. Professor of Law," the designation will be conferred upon a leading teacher and scholar in the area of commercial, bankruptcy, and business law who has shown excellence and innovation in the classroom. The recipient of the professorship will be named later this fall.
"The Gordon and Silver, Ltd. law firm has been a wonderful supporter of the Boyd Law School for many years," said Richard Morgan, dean of UNLV's William S. Boyd School of Law. "We look forward to bestowing this professorship on a truly excellent scholar and teacher in the field of business law. We are very grateful to the Gordon and Silver law firm for their continuing support of our law school."
The law firm previously donated funds for a courtroom at the Boyd School of Law, now known as the "Gordon & Silver, Ltd. Courtroom." The courtroom is at the heart of the law school's mission, serving as a venue for trial and appellate advocacy instruction, guest lectures, and community events that require a courtroom setting.
