Ron Harbison, '04, Business, recently made the 50,000th gift to the Invent the Future campaign. His donation will support the greatest needs in the College of Business. This week, representatives from the UNLV Foundation and Alumni Relations greeted Ron on campus to personally thank him for his donation. They provided him a few UNLV signature items, including a one-year membership in the College of Business Alumni Association.
Harbison spoke with student Rebel Ring Phonathon caller Danny Pham in late February and pledged his support to the College of Business's annual fund. He mailed his gift the following week; it was counted by the UNLV Foundation as the 50,000th gift to UNLV since the campaign began on Jan. 1, 2002.
"I grew up here, and I've always been a Rebel fan since I was a little kid" Harbison, a Green Valley High School graduate, said of his commitment to UNLV. "I knew I wanted to come to UNLV, and I am proud to continue my support as an alumnus."
Harbison is one of more than 5,970 alumni who have contributed in excess of $21,679,681 in gifts and gift intentions to myriad UNLV programs through the Invent the Future campaign.
Fundraising priorities for the Invent the Future campaign include endowments to assist with recruitment and retention of top students and faculty; funds to provide enhanced learning opportunities through scholarships, fellowships and other programs; and funds toward innovative learning environments, through new and renovated facilities and special equipment.
