Students from the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration will host the third annual Friends of Nevada Dinner, to be held Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Boyd Dining Room on the second floor of UNLV's Beam Hall.
The event is a fundraiser for the Poverello House, a non-profit organization providing shelter to the homeless in North Las Vegas and Henderson. Over the last two years the event has raised a total of $10,000.
The dinner will be planned and executed by students of the hotel college, and it will feature gourmet menu items based on the recipes of some of Las Vegas' most famous chefs.
The cost of the dinner is $65 and includes cocktails, microbrews, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. A reception will precede the dinner at 6 p.m. For reservations or additional information, contact Valerie Nehmer at 895-1330. Seating is limited.
