Renowned feminist, social activist and author bell hooks will provide critical analysis of the most contentious and challenging issues of race, class, and gender in America during a lecture at UNLV, titled "Belonging: A Culture of Place." Hooks is the author of numerous critically acclaimed and influential books that examine the interconnectivity of race, gender, and class, including "Ain't I a Woman: Black Women and Feminism"; "Teaching to Transgress: Education as the Practice of Freedom"; and We Real Cool: Black Men and Masculinity," among others. The event is part of the KVBC Lecture Series and is cosponsored by the UNLV English Department.
