Ken Navarro, smooth Jazz guitarist and composer, performs a solo, acoustic concert his first time at the UNLV Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 in the Doc Rando Recital Hall of the Beam Music Center. Grammy award-nominated Navarro’s impressive discography includes 23 top-charting albums, including his most recent: Bonfire, Unbreakable Heart, and Ruby Lane.
Over the past 25 years, Navarro has performed in every major US city and had numerous Top 5 hits on national radio. His music is distributed throughout the world from Japan to Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Britain, Australia, Chile, Brazil, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands and even in China. Navarro's 2010 release "Dreaming of Trains" was pre-nominated for the 2011 Grammy awards in two categories, and his 2014 album "Ruby Lane" spent 4 months in the Top 10 at contemporary/smooth jazz radio, iTunes, and Amazon.
Tickets to An Evening with Ken Navarro are $45 and can be purchased online or by calling at the Performing Arts Center box office at 702-895-ARTS (2787). Student rush tickets are $10 each and available one hour prior to each event with valid student I.D. UNLV faculty and staff discounts also are available. The UNLV Performing Arts Center is Southern Nevada's first home for the arts: it opened in 1976 and celebrates its 42nd season this year. It hosts a variety of performances and events and is home to productions presented by the Nevada Conservatory Theatre, UNLV School of Music, UNLV Dance, Desert Chorale, and the Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society. The UNLV PAC also is pleased to host various Clark County School District fine arts festivals and concerts.
