The College of Fine Arts invites you to a once-in-a-lifetime experience — lunch with members of the internationally acclaimed Kronos Quartet and Oscar-nominated director Sam Green — 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, in the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall lobby. Following the lunch, the UNLV Graduate Quartet with music professor Wei-Wei Le will perform in the master class with the Kronos Quartet from 2:30 - 4 p.m. on the concert hall stage, and Green will hold a master class in the lobby.
The event is free and open to the public. Just bring a lunch!
The event is in addition to the Wednesday, Sept. 11, performance of A Thousand Thoughts: A Live Documentary with the Kronos Quartet in the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall where Green tells the multi-decade and continent-spanning story of the while the group revisits its extensive body of work, performing music by George Crumb, Laurie Anderson, and John Zorn.
Discuss in person this wildly creative multimedia performance piece blending live music and narration with archival footage and filmed interviews with such prominent artists as Philip Glass, Tanya Tagaq, Steve Reich, Wu Man, and Terry Riley.

The UNLV Performing Arts Center is Southern Nevada's first home for the arts: it opened in 1976 and celebrates its 44th season this year. It hosts a variety of performances and events and is home to productions presented by the Nevada Conservatory Theatre, UNLV School of Music, UNLV Dance, Desert Chorale, and the Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society. The UNLV PAC also is pleased to host various Clark County School District fine arts festivals and concerts.
