UNLV is inviting businesses to reserve booth space for the university's Career Day '97, which will take place Feb. 26 at the Thomas & Mack Center.
"The purpose of Career Day is to put potential employers in touch with UNLV students and alumni who are either in the job market now or plan to be looking for jobs in the near future," said Eileen McGarry, UNLV's director of Career Services. Employers also will have the opportunity to meet members of the campus community, including key administrators, student leaders, and faculty and staff members.
"We're moving this year's event to the Thomas & Mack Center because Career Day has been growing in popularity over the past few years," she said. "Last year we had 145 employers participating, as well as nearly 4,000 students, alumni, and community members."
McGarry recommended that employers who are interested in having a booth this year sign up soon, as space is going fast. To reserve booth space, call Career Services at (702) 895-3495.
In addition to the employer booths, Career Day this year will feature a series of workshops on topics such as advanced job surfing on the Internet and dressing for success. Door prizes will be given.
Career Day is sponsored by career services; UNLV's student government, the Consolidated Students of the University of Nevada; and the UNLV Alumni Association.
