A summer session course examining the subject of crisis management will be offered June 5-July 7 through the UNLV management department.
The three-credit graduate-level course, titled Seminar in Management (MGT 789), will offer insights into how to deal with many types of crises in organizations, using several case studies such as the Exxon Valdez oil spill and space shuttle Challenger disaster.
Taught by UNLV management professor Alan Miller, the course is open as an elective to graduate students and to anyone else who wants to learn about managing organizational crises. Miller plans to hold many discussions in the class, which will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, 7-9:45 p.m.
