Residents interested in the future of growth in Southern Nevada are invited to participate in a free, informational Community Fair on March 18 on the UNLV campus.
The fair will take place on the final day of the Smart Growth - Real Solutions conference and will provide people from the community the opportunity to talk with of ficials from a variety of agencies about plans for growth in Southern Nevada.
The event, which is free, will take place from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on UNLV's academic mall. There will be information booths and displays.
"We're expecting many creative ideas about ways to promote sustainable growth to come from the conference," said Kathy Lauckner, who works at UNLV's Harry Reid Center for Environmental Studies and is serving as coordinator of the fair. "At the fair, members of the public will have a great chance to exchange ideas with conference participants about growth issues."
For additional information on the fair, call Lauckner at 895-1423.
Members of the public also are welcome to attend the Smart Growth - Real Solutions conference, which will take place March 16-17, but they would have to register in advance and pay a fee to attend. Anyone interested in registering for the conference should call 1-800-321-5011.
