Community leaders and representatives interested in building community alliances and developing future joint research opportunities with UNLV are encouraged to attend an open-house breakfast hosted by UNLV's Center for Urban Partnerships (CUP) on Feb. 12 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The event, which will be held at the Fireside Lounge inside the Moyer Student Union on the UNLV campus, will highlight a variety of CUP's services, including grant funding assistance, and program evaluation, design, and implementation.
Several CUP advisory board members, including Clark County Manager Thom Reilly, and Susie Cram, chief executive officer of Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, will discuss important community issues and potential research topics. UNLV faculty members will provide an overview of ongoing research projects.
For more information or to RSVP for the breakfast, contact Heather Bruton, community outreach coordinator, at 895-2926.
Founded in 1996, the Center for Urban Partnerships, located in the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs, was designed to address critical urban topics in Southern Nevada. In addition to conducting applied research, the center strives to unite the expertise of faculty with the experience and needs of the community by providing resources such as grant and contract writing, program evaluation and development, and policy planning and needs assessments.
