The UNLV Center for Democratic Culture and the William S. Boyd School of Law will sponsor a panel discussion titled "Civil Society and Legal Reform in Russia" at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 23 in Room 105 of the Boyd School of Law. The event is free and open to the public.
The forum, which will feature five Russian judges and American legal scholars, will examine recent developments in the Russian Federation. The discussion will be moderated by United States District Judge Lloyd George and Director for the UNLV Center for Democratic Culture Dmitri Shalin.
The visit by the delegation of judges from various district and municipal courts in the Russian Federation is being sponsored by the Open World Program of the American Councils for International Education.
