The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art presents a workshop beginning at 1 p.m. Friday, April 20, titled Snowflake Camp with artist Bobbie Ann Howell. Sessions start on the hour at 1, 2, 3, and 4 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
Ê×Ò³| Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» the workshop: Las Vegas artist Howell shows you how to transform a sheet of paper into an intricate and expressive artwork. Her cut paper and acrylic work titled "Showgirls and Thunderbirds" is on view in the Barrick's exhibition Plural. All materials will be provided. Ages 8 and up are welcome!
Ê×Ò³| Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» the artist: A native Nevadan, Howell translates current events, the lives of women, and elements of the western landscape into cut paper imagery, photographic explorations, and other media. She has exhibited at locations across Nevada, including the Lost City Museum in Overton; Great Basin College, Elko; and the UNLV Donna Beam Fine Art Gallery. Her works are held in public and private collections across the United States. She is the recipient of a 2018 Nevada Arts Council Visual Art Fellowship.
