Rest in Prowess
Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya's "Rest in Prowess" installation makes its Las Vegas debut at the Barrick Museum of Art in fall 2019. Exploring the idea that we only live as long as there is someone who remembers us, the artist invites you to join us in thinking back on the stories of women from around the world who have influenced our lives. Anyone is welcome to tell a story. The piece is about celebrating women from all walks of life with different journeys, beginnings, and backgrounds. Stories will be collected through June 2019.
Phingbodhipakkiya's exhibition "Connective Tissue" is on view at the UNLV Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art from Sept. 13 to Dec. 29, 2019.

"'Rest in Prowess' is a celebration of the women we hold dear — to help us all reflect on the rich legacy of bold women in our communities," said Phingbodhipakkiya. "Your story will be shared through text on the "Rest in Prowess" site and projected in installation form. No audio recordings of your voice will be used."

is a two-time TED speaker whose background in neuroscience brought her to a career that fuses science and the arts. She is the founder and CEO of , an organization that translates complex research into visual communication; the artist behind , an award-winning portrait series that celebrates the rich history of women in STEM fields; and the founder of , a science-positive clothing line and science club for girls. Her exhibition, "Connective Tissue," is on view at the UNLV Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art from Sept. 13 to Dec. 29, 2019.
