Terra Antarctica" will be the topic of an Oct. 6 University Forum lecture at UNLV.
During the slide-illustrated lecture, William Fox, a fellow with the Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, will discuss how human beings have transformed the continent's barren land into landscape. Fox will show images that trace the manifestation of this change in the cartography, art, and history of the Antarctic.
The lecture will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History. All University Forum lectures are free and open to the public.
The University Forum lecture series is sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts and is underwritten by The Jerry Kalafatis Lodge Charitable Foundation and the UNLV Foundation.
