All UNLV athletic events have been cancelled through Sunday. Events that were still scheduled to take place this week affected are as follows:
- The women's soccer match that had been originally scheduled for Wednesday, then moved to Thursday, has been postponed.
- The women's soccer match vs. Oklahoma in Flagstaff, Ariz., scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled.
- The volleyball team's game in Flagstaff vs. Northern Arizona scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled.
UNLV Athletics will resume with its normally scheduled competitions on Monday as the women's golf team will compete in Franklin, Tenn.
"The mood of the country is one of reflection right now," said UNLV Director of Athletics Charles Cavagnaro. "We have decided it is not appropriate for us to play."
